Student Mental Health Resources
At Olentangy Schools, the wellness of every student is a shared priority. Every student has access to comprehensive wellness supports designed to promote academic success, positive mental health, and overall well-being.
Each school is staffed with both a School Counselor and a Mental Health Specialist who work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and community partners to provide support and connect students with the resources they need to succeed.
We are committed to providing safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments where every student can flourish. Through a comprehensive approach to wellness, students receive curriculum and learning experiences that empower them to be purposeful, resilient, curious, and kind.
Students also benefit from prevention education focused on mental health, suicide prevention, substance use prevention, physical health, and overall wellness. When additional support is needed, our team partners with families, schools, and community agencies to provide coordinated supports and connect students with community resources and wraparound services that help remove barriers to learning and promote student success.
School Counselors
School counselors are dedicated to supporting the academic, career, and social/emotional success of every student. They are available to help students and families navigate school transitions, academic planning, problem-solving, and social and emotional concerns. School counselors also connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources to ensure they receive the support they need.
Mental Health Specialists
Mental Health Specialists are licensed mental health professionals who partner with schools, families, and community agencies to support students' mental health and well-being. They work to reduce barriers to learning, promote positive mental wellness, and help students develop the skills needed to succeed in school and beyond.
Mental Health Specialists can assist with social, emotional, and behavioral concerns, provide short-term support and intervention, connect families with school and community resources, and collaborate with staff and caregivers to help students thrive.
