Traumatic Event Crisis Intervention Plan

When a traumatic or stressful event occurs in Olentangy Schools, the well-being of students and staff is our top priority. Olentangy utilizes the Traumatic Event Crisis Intervention Plan (TECIP), a field-tested, school-based framework, for responding to and providing care in the aftermath of traumatic events. District administrators, school counselors, and mental health staff are trained in TECIP protocols so that they are prepared to support staff and students in the aftermath of a crisis. Each school building has a TECIP team that responds to traumatic events by  coordinating and connecting those impacted in their school community to resources and supports.

District administrators assist building TECIP teams in following protocols and implementing intervention strategies.
