Superintendent Message For May 11, 2018

Dear Olentangy families,

As you may already be aware, the Olentangy Local School District is once again being recognized as a great place to work and has been awarded a 2018 Top Workplaces honor by Columbus CEO Magazine.

The Top Workplaces list is based on results of an employee feedback survey administered by Energage, a research firm specializing in organizational health and workplace improvement. The magazine ranked Olentangy as the ninth top workplace in the category of large organizations (350 employees or more). We are the only public school district in the large organization category to make the Top Workplaces list. In addition, we are one of just 75 Top Workplaces recognized in central Ohio. This is the second time we've been recognized with the award, having received this recognition in 2016.

The single biggest reason Olentangy has received this honor is the people - our staff members - who work hard to make our district such a great place to work and learn. During this week of teacher and staff appreciation, I sincerely thank all who work hard to live the mission of the district and facilitate maximum learning for every student.

As we celebrate teacher and staff appreciation week, take a moment to consider making a commendation for an Olentangy staff member through the Olentangy Education Foundation Staff Commendation program which concludes on Monday, May 14. Your commendation will be shared with your designated staff member and their supervisor. In addition, funds raised through this program directly benefit our students and schools by going toward teacher grants and student scholarships. See the Olentangy Education Foundation funding history to learn more.

We've known for a long time what a special place Olentangy is - it's great to have it confirmed once again by Columbus CEO Magazine!

Proud to serve as your Superintendent,

Mark T. Raiff
