2019-2020 HIGH SCHOOL COURSE PLANNING GUIDE

EDUCATIONAL OPTIONS and Additional Information

Visual Arts Course Offerings
Choosing a Visual Arts course is an exciting time for students, but can also be difficult or confusing because of all the options! All students wanting to take art classes must first take a semester of Art 1, a foundations course for all other art classes. After Art 1, there are numerous options in the areas of drawing, sculpture, ceramics, computer graphics, jewelry/metals, digital imaging, photography, and painting. All art studio classes are 1 semester long and students need 1 credit/2 semesters of fine art requirements for graduation (i.e.: Art 1 + 1 level one art course). If you love history and the arts, sophomores, juniors, and seniors should look at AP Art History, a year-long focus course on art history taught by Ms. Kikta. AP Art History is a great gateway course for students interested in starting AP courses!  If you have any questions about scheduling or which course would be a great option for you, please see the attached flyer and/or contact any of the art teachers at OOHS!
