Purple Up!

On Friday, April 5th, we are encouraging Glen Oak staff and students to wear purple for Purple Up! Purple up day is a time to show support for our military families. This effort was started in 2011 by 4-H clubs in New Hampshire as a way to honor the children of military members serving at home and overseas. Purple was chosen because it is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military.  "It is a combination of Army green, Marine red and Coast Guard, Air Force and Navy blue, " according to the 4-H. "The goal of Purple Up! is for military youth to acutally see the support in their school and in the community."  Purple up attire is available to order.

Here is a list of military resources available.
