Olentangy Named Energy Efficiency Champion

The Olentangy Local School District was recently honored for its work to significantly reduce its energy consumption. The District was presented with an Energy Efficiency Champion Award from AEP Ohio during a special awards event held April 25, 2018. District Facilities Director Jeff Gordon, who oversees Olentangy's energy conservation project, accepted the award.

Since launching its energy conservation program in 2013, Olentangy Local Schools has saved approximately $1.7 million in energy costs. The district program has involved dozens of projects - from the installation of more efficient and alternative energy devices to new monitoring tools aimed at identifying where energy expenses can be reduced.

Energy Efficiency Champion Award recipients are those who have made outstanding contributions to increasing energy efficiency within their organizations, reducing their energy usage and positively impacting the environment.
