The U.S. Department of Education’s guidelines for school security recommends limiting school access points and implementing a visitor control system. All Olentangy school buildings have a security vestibule upon entry and a visitor control and tracking system called Ident-A-Kid Visitor Management. This easy-to-use system scans each visitor’s ID and prints a corresponding visitor badge.
All visitors must check in through the main entrance with proper identification:
- Go to the visitor PC kiosk, click on the appropriate badge, and scan ID.
- Visitor badge must be worn at all times while on school grounds.
- Upon exit, simply click Quick Scan Out and scan the QR code printed on the visitor badge to sign out.
To ensure education continues, visitors are asked to limit visits with students to no longer than 30 minutes.
