In the event of adverse weather or emergency situations that require school late starts, early dismissals, cancellations or lockdowns, Olentangy Schools will send immediate notice to parents and families.
In the event of inclement weather, school delays and closings will be posted on the district website. Delay and closing information will also be reported using an automated phone system, an email notification system, local television stations (Channels 4, 6, 10 and 28) and local radio stations (FM Channels 92.3, 94.3, 94.7, 97.9, 99.7, 103.9, 103.5/104.3, 104.9, 105.7 and 107.9 and AM. Channels 610, 920, 1490 and 1550) as well as via the district’s mobile app and social media pages (Facebook, Twitter). There may be times when it is necessary to dismiss school during the day because of an emergency. In such instances, parents will be contacted using the district’s automated calling system.*
Parents are urged to make arrangements with a neighbor or friend so that their child will have a place to go in case of an emergency if a parent/adult is not home.
Parent/guardian calling, email and text message contact information is based on their PowerSchool account. For instructions on how to update your PowerSchool account information view the PowerSchool Update Instructions.
