BridgED is an activation team built to “bridge the gap” between K-12 and the business community. BridgED was built by corporate engagement professionals in academia to solve the fundamental challenges of helping companies and districts work together.

The impact is workforce development, internships and hiring, philanthropic giving (scholarships and gifts), and ultimately, student success and defining paths forward.

Kokosing’s primary business lines include industrial, transportation, pipelines, water and wastewater, marine and renewable energy. Additionally, Kokosing owns construction material supply companies.

Kokosing is experiencing workforce challenges, especially within the skilled trades. As of December 2022, the company has 160 openings and half have a college degree requirement. The need for talent is expected to grow in the coming years with government funding for infrastructure (roads, bridges, etc.). To help reinforce their workforce, Kokosing has tapped into their future leaders program, Accelerated Development Program (ADP) which is comprised of future leaders of the company to help spread the work to K-12 students and teachers. There are two ADP divisions, one is in the construction side of the business led by Troy Hargis and the other is in the industrial side of the business and is led by Doug Jackson.
