The security and privacy of Olentangy Schools' systems and data are key to achieving the district's mission. The district strives to meet all regulatory standards, such as FERPA, COPPA, and CIPA, which govern how we manage and care for the information entrusted to us from our students, staff, and community.
The district also takes security and privacy seriously for the digital resources used in the classroom. Resources are reviewed against district standards before gaining approval. These standards include security metrics such as website encryption but also a review of vendor privacy policies to ensure the data we entrust to a vendor is being handled properly and is not being sold or used for other purposes.
The district is working to enhance our system security capabilities to better align ourselves with security best practices. This will help to lower our overall technology risk and help ensure that systems and data are available and accurate.
