2016-17 Attendance Boundaries Committee Online Presentation of Scenarios

As previously announced, you may view the 2016-17 attendance boundaries committee presentation in its entirety here. This presentation outlines two potential attendance boundaries scenarios, K-12, for your review. This presentation is identical to what will be presented at all three community forums. The only difference you will find from the online version to the community forums is that committee members will be available for questions and answers at the conclusion of the presentation at the forums.

You will find a QR code in the presentation linking you to the feedback form, or click here to access the form. The feedback form will be available from January 27 to February 16. Please note you are not voting for a scenario, but rather providing feedback on components within each scenario. Once again, you are not voting for a scenario in its entirety.

This feedback is being used to continue to work on development of two K-12 scenarios to share with the community for feedback at the community forums and online.

The committee will meet on January 25 to continue to review potential K-12 scenarios for presentation at the community forums and to prepare for their role at the community forums. The online presentation of the scenarios will be available on Friday, January 27 along with an online survey to collect feedback. Information regarding the forums and the content of the forums can be found here.

December 7, 2016 ABC Meeting Presentation

At the December 7, 2016 Attendance Boundaries Committee meeting, the committee reviewed and shared feedback individually and in small group discussion regarding additional high school boundary concepts.  In addition, the Committee began to explore elementary boundary concepts presented at the meeting. After familiarizing themselves with the elementary boundary concepts, small working groups compiled their initial thoughts and suggestions for considerations.  The next ABC meeting will be held on January 11, 2017. At that meeting, the committee will continue to review elementary boundary concepts and begin to review middle school boundary possibilities. The committee will be meeting twice in January, prior to the community forums. The December 7 meeting presentation can be found below.

Enrollment Projections and Student Potential Update 2016

A demographic and enrollment update was presented to the Board of Education on November 10, 2016.  Data from the Student Potential Update 2016 will be incorporated into potential boundary options as we move forward.  The documents can be found on the Facilities Committee Reports page found here.

  • NOVEMBER 1, 2016 ABC MEETING PRESENTATION

The 2016-17 Attendance Boundaries Committee attended its second meeting on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. The presentation covered a review of the Board of Education redistricting guidelines and parameters as well as an extensive work session using an excel calculator to explore the enrollment impact of moving or not moving various parcels of the district to the new high school or other existing schools. The intent of this session was for the committee to understand some of the dynamics involved in reducing enrollment in each of the high schools. The goal of this meeting was not to create solutions and proposed options for consideration but instead to gain understanding. The committee reviewed conceptual maps to create their understanding. The conceptual maps in the presentation are not proposals. The Frequently Asked Questions page will be updated throughout the process as questions and answers are available. A demographic and enrollment update will be presented to the Board of Education on November 10, 2016. The ABC will hold its next meeting on December 7.
