Specially Designed Instruction and Related Services

Our district is committed to meeting the individual needs of students with disabilities by providing a full continuum of services in alignment with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Ohio Department of Education.

Our District offers a range of instructional supports, including support from intervention specialists, services in Specialized Learning Centers (SLCs), co-teaching, and related services such as speech, occupational, and physical therapy.

Our Specialized Learning Centers, located at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, are designed to support students with diverse needs. Services and supports within these programs are determined through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and are tailored to each student.

Services available to students eligible for special education services may include, but are not limited to:

  • Adapted Physical Education (APE)
  • Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist
  • Physical Therapy (PT)
  • Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
