Related/Supplemental Services
Our district works to meet the individual needs of children with disabilities by offering the full continuum of options allowed by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (I.D.E.A.) and the Ohio Department of Education. Each building offers small group instruction, resource room classes, team teaching, supplemental services, and related services such as speech, occupational, and physical therapy.
For children identified with disabilities such as multiple disabilities (MD), emotional disturbance (ED), cognitive disabilities (CD) or autism (AU), we offer specialized learning centers whenever appropriate.
There are MD, ED, and CD specialized learning centers at the elementary, middle, and high school levels at various building sites. The services and supports available through these learning centers may be recommended by the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team.
Related services offered to students of the Olentangy Local School District are determined under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (I.D.E.A.). These services for our special needs students include, but are not limited to:
- Adapted Physical Education
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Speech Therapy
- Supplemental Services for Health Impaired Students
