olentangy Schools Registration next steps:
STEP 1: CHECK ELIGIBILITY
Confirm that you live within the Olentangy Schools attendance boundaries.
STEP 2: Collect Required Documents
Only the parent/guardian of the child may complete the registration process.
A. Parent/Guardian Valid Photo IDS
Front of the driver’s license or the photo page from a passport.
B. Student(s) Certified Birth Certificate and/or Passport
If your child was born in the state of Ohio, you can order their birth certificate from the Ohio Department of Health. Click here to order birth certificate.
C. Proof of Residency
- If you are renting your home: a current signed lease agreement, signed by both you and the management/landlord.
- If you have purchased your home: a warranty deed, a settlement statement from your closing documents, or a mortgage statement.
- If you are building or purchasing a home: a signed purchase agreement and your current address. You will need to complete a 90-day waiver.
- If you are living with another Olentangy homeowner/renter: you will need to provide their Proof of Residency and Complete a Residency Affidavit.
- Please note: We do not accept bills as proof of residency.
D. Updated Immunization/Shot Records
- Vaccine Requirement for New Students
- All new students must submit a complete vaccine record within 14 days of starting school.
- Submitting a record does not guarantee it meets Ohio requirements. If the school nurse contacts you, more vaccines or an exemption form may be needed.
- Students not in compliance after 14 days will be excluded from school until proper documentation is provided.
Special Situations:
The following list is additional documentation that is required if the special situation applies to you and/or your student.
Tuberculosis TB test results or chest X-ray
- The student has spent 60 or more consecutive days in a TB-endemic region within the past five years.

Custody Documentation
Must be judge-signed, court-stamped, and submitted in full if applicable. Examples include:
- Shared Parenting Decree (signed by the judge) with Shared Parenting Plan (indicates school placement parent)
- Divorce Decree (indicating sole custody)
- Magistrate’s Orders
- Guardianship Documents
- Adoption Documents
- Or foster placement paperwork
Special Education/Special Services
- Current copy of IEP, ETR, MFE or 504 plan
Students coming from outside the U.S.
- Academic records, if available
- High school transcripts for students enrolling in grades 9-12
STEP 3: ENROLL
Families enrolling for the 2025-26 school year (start date in August), click the blue box to begin registration:
2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR: BEGIN ONLINE REGISTRATION
Documents must be uploaded through the Online Registration. If you are having issues uploading documents, please email the New Student Welcome Center at NSWC@olsd.us.
Once registration is complete, check your email inbox for an Enrollment Confirmation Notice to confirm your child's enrollment with Olentangy Schools.
Kindergarten registration
If your child will be five years old on or before September 30, 2026, and you reside in Olentangy Schools attendance boundaries, you may register them for kindergarten starting January 13, 2026.
PRESCHOOL ENROLLMENT
To enroll your child in preschool, you must first complete the preschool process through the Preschool Office. Visit the Preschool Program page for details. If you have further questions, please contact preschool directly.
