Parents looking for detailed information regarding the academic achievement at individual schools may refer to Olentangy’s Annual Report on Academic Achievement. This report contains three years of data for each school, comparing actual performance against the benchmarks set in Olentangy’s Continuous Improvement Plans.

Parents may also consult the Local Report Cards issued by the Ohio Department of Education. Visit the webpage for the school of your choice to see the most recent report card. Report cards from prior academic years may be found on the Ohio Department of Education website.

Each school has a budget that must be divided up to cover many areas of educational need, including the resources available through the media center. Building administrators take care to determine the areas of greatest need each school year and allocate their budgets accordingly.

Admission to the graduation ceremony is free and no tickets or passes are needed. The venue may charge for parking, but each student will be given two free parking passes.

In accordance with state law, Olentangy offers a preschool program that services children with disabilities and provides an educational opportunity for typically developing children to serve as peer role models.  Learn more about the Olentangy Special Needs Preschool.

A SOY balance is a start-of-year balance.  This balance is made up of any unpaid fees from previous school years.  Please contact your child’s school to learn more about these fees.

To request consideration for early admission, you’ll need to contact the elementary school in your attendance area and ask to speak to the school psychologist.  If you aren’t sure which school your child will attend, see our attendance boundary maps and subdivision listing.  If you have any questions, please contact our New Student Welcome Center at (740) 657-4030.

Olentangy takes safety and security very seriously.  The district has a safety plan in place for each school building.  These plans are reviewed and updated regularly by a team of district employees and representatives from each fire and police agency that serves the district.  Olentangy schools hold safety drills throughout the year, and the district’s school resource officers monitor safety practices in each building. At this time there are no plans to implement all-day everyday kindergarten in Olentangy.

During the 2010-2011 school year, the district had a limited all-day everyday kindergarten program that served approximately 300 students.  That program was designed to phase in the all-day everyday kindergarten mandate passed by the state legislature in 2009.  The state has since repealed the mandate, and the district has discontinued the program.
