Tyler Run Elementary School has been designated an exemplary high performing school, and selected as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2020 by the United States Secretary of Education.
Tyler Run is one of 367 schools in the nation recognized this year, with 317 of those schools being public schools, and one of just sixteen schools in Ohio.
“I am pleased to celebrate with you as your school is named a National Blue Ribbon School,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos in a video message to the honorees. “We recognize and honor your important work, preparing all students for successful careers and meaningful lives. Congratulations on your students’ accomplishments, and for your commitment to their futures.
This is the National Blue Ribbon Schools’ 38th year honoring schools and educators for overall academic performance. On November 12 and 13, the Secretary and the Department of Education will hold a virtual recognition ceremony to celebrate the success of this year’s schools.
Olentangy would like to congratulate the Tyler Run teachers and staff, led by Principal Jennifer Mazza who has been with the school since it’s opening in 2001. Their dedication and work, combined with support from the Tyler Run families and community, make it a special learning environment for all.
Tyler Run Elementary joins Freedom Trail Elementary School, Scioto Ridge Elementary School, Olentangy High School and Liberty High School as the district’s other National Blue Ribbon award-winning schools.
