Olentangy Schools


U.S. News & World Report released its annual ranking of the nation's best high schools, and the four Olentangy Local School District's high schools are among the top in central Ohio, the state and nation based on college readiness, test scores, and graduation rates.

All four high schools rank in the top twelve among central Ohio schools, and the top 50 in the state:

  • Olentangy Liberty High School received an overall score of 97.64/100, ranking second in central Ohio and 12th in Ohio.
  • Olentangy High School received an overall score of 97.08/100, ranking fourth in central Ohio and 16th in Ohio.
  • Olentangy Berlin High School received an overall score of 94.58/100, ranking 10th in central Ohio and 34th in Ohio.
  • Olentangy Orange High School received an overall score of 94.30/100, ranking 11th in central Ohio and 46th in Ohio.

“Olentangy Schools takes pride in the breadth of opportunities available to students, the personal achievements of our staff and students, and our unwavering commitment to academic excellence,” District Chief Academic Officer Dr. Michelle Blackley shared. “Sustaining high academic rankings while experiencing exponential enrollment growth underscores our commitment.”

“The work begins in our elementary schools and continues through middle school, creating a strong foundation for success at all four of our high schools,” stated Superintendent Todd R. Meyer. “State and national recognition affirms the dedication of our teachers and administrators to maximizing learning for every student and ensures that our graduates are well prepared for the future.”

These strong results place all four Olentangy high schools in the top five percent statewide and nationally. Out of more than 24,000 high schools reviewed on six performance factors nationally, Olentangy Liberty High School ranked 423, Olentangy High School 523, Olentangy Berlin High School 970, and Olentangy Orange High School 1,176.

The U.S. News & World Report assessed 903 Ohio high schools, ranking them based on a combination of weighted factors, including college readiness, reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth, and graduation rates.
