According to the College Board, 67.5 percent of Olentangy juniors and seniors took at least one AP exam during the 2011-12 school year.  Eighty percent of those students earned a score of three or higher and possibly earned college credit for that course.

Olentangy is also launching a dual-enrollment partnership with Columbus State Community College.  Beginning in 2013-2014, students in this program will earn high school and college credit simultaneously.  The college credit is guaranteed to transfer to all public colleges and universities in Ohio.

While the IB program does have a challenging curriculum, it comes at a greater financial cost to both the district and students.  It is also less flexible than the AP program because it requires students to take the entire IB curriculum instead of being able to choose the classes that best suit their needs.
