Superintendent’s Olentangy Arts Council
“Making the arts essential, for all.”
The Arts Council is hosting the 2nd Annual Artist Studio event on May 31st at Liberty Tree Elementary from 6-8pm. Elementary age students are invited to participate in fun, creative, and interactive sessions related to visual arts, dance, drama, and music. Students will receive instruction from Olentangy teachers as well as community organizations including the Delaware Arts Castle, Opera Columbus, Mouth of the Wolf Productions, and more!
Please see the attached letter with additional information including descriptions of each session. Interested students should register through Melany Ondrus at Central Office by May 17th. This event is limited to the first 200 students, sign up quickly to reserve your space!
Mission:
To support the Olentangy School District’s mission: “To facilitate maximum learning for every student,” by working in partnership with the district, parents and the community to promote and support exceptional arts education experiences.
Vision:
We will continue the district’s success in assisting students to “perform at a level that surpasses or is equal to their projected level of achievement” by promoting and supporting exceptional arts experiences, resources and instruction. We will support:
- Research and embodied scholarship for students and instructors in the visual and performing arts and creative activities.
- An exceptional level of integrated educational experiences, blended to support the whole child.
- An inclusive identification of students who wish to further their knowledge in the arts; launching future careers as successful students, responsible citizens and/or artists.
- Information and strategic decision-making.
- A productive partnership with the school district, parents and the community.
- 21st century skills of creative problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking and communication.
