Mastery of concepts at this level is critical for advancement to the next. This course is taught in French.

This course is designed for students in their fifth year of language study who have a strong desire to enhance and strengthen their German language communicative skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) as well as to extend their cultural knowledge. Advanced Placement German will use a communicative approach with various authentic media (film, video broadcasts, internet, pod casts, literary works, magazines, CD’s, MP3 downloads, and materials provided by a college-level textbooks series). There is a comprehensive review and expansion of grammatical concepts and conversational skills, the study and practice of essay writing, the analysis and discussion of texts, in order to enable students to succeed on the AP German Language Exam with a high degree of language competency/proficiency. German is the exclusive language of the classroom. Students are expected to take the Advanced Placement Language Exam in May.

This course is designed for students in their fifth year of language study who have a strong desire to enhance and strengthen their Spanish language communicative skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) as well as to extend their cultural knowledge. Advanced Placement Spanish will use a multi-media approach such as authentic films, internet, pod casts, literary works, soap opera in target language, magazines, community newspapers, CD’s, DVD’s, MP3 downloads and websites provided by AP textbook series. The course includes a comprehensive review of grammatical structures and concepts, conversation tables, the study and practice of essay writing and translation, and analysis and discussion of authentic language texts/materials in order to enable students to succeed on the AP Spanish Language Exam with a high degree of language competency/proficiency. Spanish is the exclusive language of the classroom and students are expected to take the Advanced Placement Language Exam in May.
