Three of the district’s buildings are participating in a nationwide project called Rachel’s Challenge this year. Rachel’s Challenge is named after a Columbine victim whose thought-provoking ideas were discovered in a diary after her death. The program aims to inspire students to replace acts of disrespect and negativity with acts of kindness and compassion. A friendly challenge is going on this month between Olentangy Orange Middle School and Olentangy Orange High School to remind students of the challenge. Whenever a random act of kindness is performed, the act is written on a paper chain link which is then attached to a larger chain. So far, Orange Middle School is winning. Currently, the OOMS chain has over 200 links!
