OOMS students attend Ohio Model United Nations

About 30 students from Olentangy Orange Middle School (OOMS) attended the Ohio Model United Nations (OMUN), held at the downtown Hyatt Regency March 16-18.  The OMUN is a three day global education experience that helps students learn how the United Nations operates. Students become delegates of a selected nation in order to write, present and debate issues affecting the nations and peoples of the world. Students began at the start of the school year to research a country and decide the biggest problem facing that country.  Together they write a resolution explaining the problem and potential solution, then present thier findings at the summit. This year there were about 1,000 students at the middle school conference which is sponsored by the Ohio Leadership Institute.
