Her invention, called The Cone Holder, solves the problem of sticky hands from melting ice cream or snow cones.  Emma won a $250 college scholarship for her winning invention.

Olentangy Shanahan Middle School (OSMS) seventh-grade student Morgan G. won the Kid’s Choice Award. Kid’s Choice winnerEmma IC 1s are selected by last year’s grand prize and Kid’s Choice winners.  Morgan’s invention, called “Over Armor,” is a poncho made of ballistic nylon.  If the invention goes beyond a prototype, Morgan intends to have it made of Kevlar as it is meant to be worn by school children in the event of an intruder alert.  Morgan was also awarded scholarship money and will be invited to speak at schools in central Ohio next year to promote Invention Convention.
