Olentangy Hyatts Middle School (OHMS) this week paid tribute to the memory of Judy Muntean with a tree dedication ceremony at the school.

Muntean served as an aid for Wyandot Run Elementary School before helping to open Hyatts as a building secretary. She passed away unexpectedly in November due to a pulmonary embolism. A flowering crab tree has been planted at the school in her honor along with a plaque that reads “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.”

During the dedication ceremony, the staff at Hyatts joined Muntean’s family in gathering around the tree to honor Judy’s life.

“May this tree be a reminder to all of us and those that come after us that life is a gift and we are to live life every day until the day we join our beloved friend, Judy,” OHMS principal Kathy McFarland said.
