June Carter from the Delaware Area Humane Society visited with the Liberty Tree Elementary service club recently. The club is called ROOTS, which is an acronym for Respecting Oursleves and Others through Service. The ROOTS members are fourth and fifth grade students who attend bi-weekly meetings to discuss ways to serve the community. Ms. Carter brought along a furry friend who helped stress the importance of being an advocate for animals. During the month of January the ROOTS ambassadors will being working with LTES to collect items for the Humane Society. Some of the ambassadors will visit the Humane Society to volunteer their time with the animals.
