You know what it means to go green for the environment, but did you know that schools can also go green for student achievement? The Ohio Department of Education presents value-added data in red, yellow and green. Schools with mostly green data have shown above-average growth in student learning. Cheshire Elementary School teachers Amy Doak, Lauren Hausman and Jen Tod and building principal Justin Syroka recently presented at the Battelle for Kids Going Green Workshop. The title of their presentation was “It takes a TEAM to Go Green.” The workshop utilized current teachers or teacher teams that are getting great results in the classroom, grade-level or building to present information and ideas to tackle the challenges associated with achieving green scores.
