What is the Common Core transition?
Ohio school districts are in the process of implementing the Common Core State Standards as directed by the Ohio Department of Education. The Common Core is a set of internationally benchmarked teaching standards that is designed to help students better prepare for college, career and competition in the global economy. Olentangy Local Schools will transition to the Common Core standards over the next two years. The new curriculum will require the restructuring of the district’s existing course offerings and the acceleration options available to students.
